- כּוֹכָב, כֹּכָבm. (b. h.; = כבכב, v. כבב) (rounded, globe, star, planet. Y.Ber.I, 2b כ׳ אחד ודאי יום as long as one star only is visible, it is surely day-time. Hor.10a כ׳ אחד יש ועולהוכ׳ Ms. M. (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) there is a certain star (comet) which appears once in seventy years. Gen. R. s. 100 עשרה כוכבים בקשו לאבד כ׳ אחד ten stars (sons of Jacob) desired to destroy one star (Joseph); a. fr.Pl. כּוֹכָבִים, כֹּכָ׳.
